Our eye doctors take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.
Dr. Zubin B Chacko was born and raised in Houston, TX. Growing up in the Alief area, Dr. Chacko was heavily involved in numerous extracurricular activities during his school years. Choral singing was extremely close to his heart during his formative years and as a result saw him competing at district, regional, and state levels. He attended Houston Baptist University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science with majors in both Biology and Mathematics. Dr. Chacko then went on to complete both an MBA and MHA at Houston Baptist University before entering the business arena. After a couple of years in the field, the prevailing economic climate and job dissatisfaction caused him to seriously consider going back to school. A helpful suggestion from his wife, a degree in science, and an internal desire to find a profession that served others made Dr. Chacko settle on the decision to go back to optometry school. He attended the University Of Houston College Of Optometry where he was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence and was also given the honor by his classmates to be their student graduation commencement speaker.
Dr. Chacko is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. His interests lie in the diagnosis and management of various retinal conditions as well as dry eye and ocular surface disease. He enjoys truly getting to know his patients and establishing relationships that help him to truly understand his patient’s exact visual needs. He can speak English and Malayalam fluently as well as conduct a very basic Spanish examination. Dr. Chacko is also a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association.
In his free time, you will probably find Dr. Chacko reading, watching Marvel and other superhero movies, or spending time with his immediate family and friends. He looks forward to serving you and your family at your next eye examination!
